I kon go Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University for Masters and PhD in Engineering. I kon go Massachusetts Institute of Technology,(MIT) where I kolet Post Doctorate Certificate in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. Nnaji join faculty of Engineering at University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 1983. Afta few years, I bikom di Founder and Direktor of di Automation and Robotics laboratory at di University. I bikom professor of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering in 1992.Nnaji na persin wey like research, I focus on three major topics wey bi Computer Aided Design, Robotics and Computer Aided Engineering. Nnaji dey use di knowledge wey i gain from research create di word geometric reasoning, im believe sey most things wey we dey operate get geometric configuration. Im bi one of di pipu wey invent di E-Design concept, wey dey mek produkt design engineers work together from different location to design,assemble and test di same product, with computer and internet/World Wide Web. Nnaji Move go University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1996 as ALCOA Foundation Distinguished professor of Engineering. Dem appoint am as di William Kepler Whiteford Professor of Engineering at di University of Pittsburgh, USA, where im still serve as di Founding Director of di U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) Center for e-Design – a five University-campus NSF Center of Excellence in e-design. Im officially komot for di University and return to Naija in 2007. In 1993, Nnaji kolet leave of absence from di University bikos im won kom bak Naija and kon bikom Federal Minister of Science and Technology. Na im stat Geometric Power Limited, Naija fess indigenous-owned Power development company in 2000. In 2010 I serve as Special Adviser to di President on Power, and Chairman of di Presidential Task Force on Power. Im bikom Naija Minister of Power in 2011 and im resign for August 2012.Nnaji na persin wey get alot of experience inside technology. Some people dey du mistake dey think sey na im bi Dr. Iheanyichukwu Godswill Nnaji from Imo State, Nigeria wey bi Presidential Candidate in 2007,under di Better Nigeria Progressive Party (BNPP).

On 28 August 2012, Bartholomew Nnaji resign as Naija Minister of Power. Bifor im accept to serve as Naija Minister of Prof Nnaji com bak Naija from USA unda President Obasanjo's administration and im develop di Aba Intergrated Power Project (Aba IPP) base on di Lease Agreement with di Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN). Di Obasanjo Administration don stat di Power Sector reform in 2004 wey mek dem privatize di sector in 2011 unda President Goodluck Jonathan. Meanwhile, for politikal reason, di government break di promise wey dem agree with Nnaji and other project developers as dem fail to offer di ring-fence during di power sector privatization of state-run companies to end Naija power shortages. When Prof. Bart Nnaji resign from im position in 2012,di Economist magazine for one article "A Bright Spark is Extinguished" tok sey Mr Nnaji's supporters tok sey na pipu wey dey against privatization komot am form im position. One of di adviser of di presidential task-force on di reform of power "Nnaji na di best persin for di job but he was getting in di wey of other intrest.
